Fun With Mum A.K.A Grandma

Not only did Grandma help celebrate Zach's birthday, visit Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks with us, we also had some fun day trips.

Without a doubt our trip to Berry Springs was probably the funniest. Well the outing which we laughed the most anyway. During our stay in Darwin we visited Berry Springs weekly. A refreshing (but not cold) set of springs which are fun to float along & jump into. On the day we visited with Grandma, we were all in the water while Grandma watched from the edge. When finally Grandma decided the springs were too enticing to miss out on. Gingerly Grandma entered the water (the first time she'd been swimming in about 20years. Zach kindly offered Grandma his new birthday lilo, which Grandma gratefully accepted, forgetting how difficult it was to get onto. We were all laughing as Grandma fought with the LILO in an attempt to get on. Finally on, Grandma enjoyed floating around the spring, all the while cautious that Zach, Matt or Abbey might tip her off. Fun times.

Grandma had visited Darwin about 40 something years ago, so we revisited some places and Grandma enjoyed remembering what they were like back then.

We went for a drive out to the Mandorah jetty, enjoying a wander along the beach and finding shells while the boys watched a huge groper get caught under the jetty, & then released.

On Grandmas last day we visited the museum again, the kids eagerly showing Grandma the exhibits and
went for a drive around Darwin finally enjoying lunch at the Ski Club before saying goodbye. Thanks for visiting Grandma, we had a lovely time together, visiting and sharing new places and spending time with you.
