Busselling Busselton

The smell of tyres and the sound of rally cars greeted us as we arrived at our caravan park in Busselton. We were just in time for the annual rally from Busselton to Nannup. One can just imagine Nick's delight!...

That evening we wandered across to the raceway where time trials were being held. Watching the cars speed down the straight then spin round the corners with sparks flying everywhere caused great excitement. Matt and Zach enjoyed meeting a couple of drivers and the freebies that were being handed out. Luckily the trials ended at 9pm each night so sleeping was ok.

Unfortunately the weather wasn't the greatest and the day we went to go on the Busselton Jetty, the longest jetty in W.A it was windy and the water quite murky so the observatory at the end of the jetty was closed.

Sadly, not far from Busselton, a diver was taken by a shark and beaches were closed the whole time we were there with another shark sighting 50m from shore just near the jetty.

With the weather closing in, albeit still warm we happily packed up, wished our Irish Grey Nomad friends from next door farewell (Josh and Matt even got an outing with them to the Pub to watch the footy) and moved onto meet Grandma Alison.... Little did we realize, when it comes to booking caravan parks based on Internet descriptions, not is all as it might seem...
